Become a Donor …

Once again w e ask our regular donors and prospective donors to help fund Creative Education Institute community activities. In addition to the summer camp, CEI provides tutoring for needy children and adults, training for tutors to work with economically disadvantaged students, and emergency funds for a few families in distress.

No amount is too small (or too large). With the huge increases in illiteracy, school failure, and poverty, we face huge challenges. Any amount you donate will be put to good use.

The cost of operating the Creative Education Institute and the Academic Fun & Fitness Summer Camp are funded by North Coast Education Services.

Donor Opportunities

Academic Fun & Fitness Summer Camp

  • Scholarship Fund to help needy families afford camp fees (you receive a progress report at end of camp)
  • Children learn while having fun - $25 to $500
  • Sponsor a child (1/2 tuition)
    • Full Day - $1,100
    • Half day - $600

Emergency fund – for low wealth families:

Provide one-on-one tutoring for children or adults (basic reading and/or math) - $20 per hour

  • 10 hours of tutoring - $200
  • 20 hours of tutoring - $400
  • 40 hours of tutoring - $800

Resources for families when all else fails (food, clothing, rent, bus passes,
minor car repairs, glasses) - $25 to $200

Commitment

We believe a family is committed to camp and ensuring their child’s attendance if they pay some part of camp tuition. In some extreme cases it has been as little as $50. Our policy is to limit the CEI scholarship to 50% of camp tuition. However, we suggest other sources of funding to each family, which include: Ohio Autism Scholarship Program, local school districts, MRDD, Easter Seals, and others.

This year, the Academic Fun & Fitness Summer Camp has unique sponsorships available. Projects for the camp include:

  • Title Sponsor Annual - $5,000 (3 year commitment)
  • Theater Program - $3,000 (2 week program)
  • Science Program - $1,500 (2 week program)
  • Martial Arts Program - $2,000 (1 day each week)
  • Sports Programs (2) - $250 (2 day programs)
  • Video Sponsor - $1,800 (Theater presentation)

Camp sponsors of the 2007 Camp include: National City, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Susan and John Turben Foundation, Lakeland Community College, John K. Mott Youth Fund/United Way of Cleveland, Lutheran Hospital Foundation/Women’s Board, SnapVision, and North Coast Education Services.
